    Reef fishing the Indo/Pacific realm is serious business. The fish are all agro and built with big strong tail fins that deliver max drag pullin power across almost all ranges of tackle. One of the more widely distribute species is the coral trout. These fish can reach 25 kg or 50 plus pounds. That is a solid fish to have slam your lure. In The Spread traveled to Western Australia to fish the Rowley Shoals with our friends who run Reel Teaser Fishing Adventures. Rowley Shoals is a chain of atolls that sit atop the continental shelf 150 miles off the coast, in the Indian Ocean. These atolls are giant coral towers that rise from depths over 1000 feet to the surface. The fishing variety there is impressive. What we did was venture inside or on top of the atoll at high tide to fish coral bommies or coral heads that hold a bounty of aggressive coral trout. Chris Rushford and Ross Newton open their playbook to show you how to fish for coral trout their way. They will discuss and demonstrate a variety of fishing techniques, lures and boat operation.
